colon cleansers are a waste of time, money, and actually do more harm than good. i,d ask a pharmacist about interactions. i take 75mcg of thyroxine, and my hair is fine. are you attempting a radial diet change? reduced calorie semi starvation stuff? it sure sounds like it. any otc supplement has to be checked with a pharmacist. you are conducting an uncontrolled chemical experiment on yourself when you combine these two items.
Mona there s no reason why acai berries would interfere with thyroxin, and most unlikely the reason for hair loss. Hypothyroid is a major cause of hair loss and you need to have your TSH levels checked. The other common factors are in particular Zinc deficiency and low Testosterone levels, that is the male hormone, we share some of each female and male hormoners. So females can suffer ‘Male Pattern Baldness”.
Zinc deficiency shows as ridging of the finger nails, longitudinal (down) the nail is mild to moderate deficiency and deepr short acroos the nails signify gross deficiency.
Foods to avoid or use sparingly are so bean products and all of the cabbage family.
Almost all Hashimoto’s hypothyroid victims (most common form) are also gluten intolerant or Celiacs. Just abstaining from gluten completely may reverse the condition.
Also thyroxine is only a part of the answer and is prescribed to keep cost down Any Doctor who knows thyroid would agree that naturally derived thyroid extract containing not one but three essentials is best for proper thyroid management, obtained from a compounding chemist on a doctors prescription.
Colon cleansing may not be the answer as you are almost certain to have hyperpermeability of the mucosal lining of your gut (Leaky gut) and until properly reparied you will have maldigestion with subsequent malabsorption and consequent cellular malnurtition.
